Campion Coleman received his Bachelor’s degree from VA Tech in 1983. He studied Urban Affairs with a concentration in Information Systems. He begin working for his father at Coleman Homes, Inc. on a full time basis after he graduated.
He began by learning and working at every position in the company. His background of “learning the ropes” from the ground up and working closely with his father has given him real life management skills in dealing with employees and subcontractors along with communicating with each homeowner every step of the way in the process of building their dream homes. While learning all aspect of operations of the company, Campion brought the company up to speed in technology by computerizing the accounting and payroll systems.
Today, he uses a CAD program to make each house he builds as individual as the homeowner is by intricately planning every detail before costing it out.Coleman Homes is truly a family business. Currently Campion, along with his sister, Anna Hutchinson, run the day to day business, while his father, Dick Coleman is still working as a consultant. The family shares the philosophy of building fine custom homes and renovations that are practical, functional and livable.
Campion was named Builder of the Year by FABA (Fredericksburg Area Builders Association) in 2007 for overseeing the building of the new offices for Fredericksburg Area Builders Association. Coleman Homes Inc. employs several people who have been with the company since the beginning in 1977. They have also been using suppliers and sub-contractors for over 30 years in some instances. The relationship Coleman Homes has with them is enviable and gives them good working relationships to get the best results for the homeowner. Campion and his employees are committed to being honest and ethical with every person they come into contact with. This includes using only the best materials possible and it produces homes that will last a lifetime.
Campion has resided in Stafford County since 1976 and is married with a daughter in college. He has built homes in the Fredericksburg area and took over the company from his father in 2010. He has also traveled to Fairfax County to build one house because the homeowner was insistent on having only Coleman Homes, Inc. Normally he builds within a 40 mile radius of Fredericksburg. Campion enjoys golf and medium distance motorcycling in his free time.
